![]() All in all, it is fun, but a little bit repetitive. The music is pretty good, the graphics are nice. That's not fun, though, because all the best loot is in the side level. The loot system can be super generous and give you a huge boost right from the beginning OR you only get meh! stuff and you have to play more conservatively, foregoing side levels until you get decent equipment. Each turn takes a set amount of time, but you might be able to take several actions per turn, and doesn't feel like a turn because everything is so fluid. Jupiter Hells meant to be fast-paced and completable on nightmare in under 2 hours (I take my time fully exploring levels and even my runs were in the 1-1.5 hour range. Melee Scout is head and shoulders above the alternatives. Makes me wonder what the hell happened.Īnyway, I find the turn-based system quite clever and effective. Rocket launcher with precise on crit is enough to gib most enemies except the toxic reaver and plasma ravager. Now I get events like Lockdowns and Summons, level designs where enemies coming at me from every directions almost right from the start, crappy loot. The first two runs I just seemed to breeze through all the first side levels. My first two runs went super well, but now I just get killed super fast on "side levels" (the Callisto mines, etc.).
